We are seeking two (2) experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Principals with a commitment to school improvement to support optimal outcomes for our students. Both positions are permanent, full-time positions which will commence Term 4, 2024.
The successful applicants will work closely as part of the Executive Leadership team to provide educational leadership within the school community to promote the school’s visions and strategic directions. To be successful in the role, you will ideally have excellent communication, high-level organisational skills and experience mentoring and developing staff.
Deputy Principal - Early Childhood
The successful applicants will ideally possess an extensive knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE). You will ideally have proven and effective leadership qualities, including the capacity to strategically lead evidence-based improvements. As deputy principal, you will lead the ECE team implementing our operational plans, particularly focussing on Prelit, Intialit, Peggy Lego, Daily Sentence Writing, Talk4Writing, Origo – Stepping Stones, consistently across all classrooms.
As the Early Childhood Deputy Principal, it is highly desirable that you possess an extensive knowledge of disabilities and evidence-based approaches to lead and manage the Student Services team to provide tiered interventions, behaviour management, pastoral care, support and development programs for students. You would also be leading the case management of our students considered at educational risk through your knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. These strategies are integral to enhancing student engagement to ensure high social, emotional and educational outcomes for all students within our school context.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant in the role has a strong knowledge and understanding of the Disability Resourcing System and can manage these human and financial resources in the best interest of the students.
There is an associated responsibility to establish and manage administrative and operational systems within student support, to ensure the effective operation of your portfolio within the school, in accordance with Department policy and guidelines. Highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents and the community is highly advantageous to this role.
Deputy Principal - Curriculum
The successful applicant for this position will provide educational leadership and raise the profile of Numeracy across the school and the network, by implementing strategic directions with the school's Business Plan. You will ideally possess a strong knowledge and understanding of explicit instruction and the Concrete, Representational, Abstract (CRA) approach, as well as analysing data to assist the improvement of student achievement.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with teaching staff to implement an instructional coaching model to build confidence in delivering the Numeracy Curriculum and proficiency strands. This will also involve developing and delivering professional learning to staff aligned with the schools Business Plan.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant in the role has strong behaviour management skills and be able to clearly communicate to parents. An understanding and knowledge of ICT is highly desirable. A part of this role will involve mentoring graduate teachers and managing induction processes for new staff.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.

- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
