About the division

The Racing, Gaming and Liquor (RGL) team has undergone significant transformation, and we are looking for dynamic leaders to drive change. RGL regulates and maintains the integrity of all lawful racing, gambling, and liquor activities in the state by providing guidance for industry to maintain compliance with relevant legislation for the benefit of all Western Australians. 

About the role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for industry development and regulatory oversight? Look no further! We’re looking for two highly motivated professionals to develop strong partnerships and drive collaboration across the department to support the delivery of strategic initiatives and programs of the Wagering and Community Gaming Compliance and Liquor Control and Compliance teams within the Racing, Gaming and Liquor Division.

The General Manager Wagering and Community Gaming Compliance will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and leadership to a cross functional team to improve and develop strategies for effective regulation and business resilience.  You will take charge of engaging and partnering with industry and government stakeholders to identify compliance and industry development opportunities and lead the change aligned to regulatory objectives for the department and the Gaming and Wagering Commission of Western Australia.

The General Manager Liquor Control and Compliance will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and leadership to a cross functional team, providing clear direction to improve and develop strategies for effective regulation and business resilience. This role has responsibility for determining of complex and often contentious liquor licensing applications and will take charge of engaging and partnering with industry and government stakeholders to deliver workable solutions across a broad range of topics and lead the change aligned to regulatory objectives.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Extensive demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and/or industry development
  2. Innovative and contemporary ideas to deliver initiatives, programs and meet strategic objectives.
  3. Ability to lead and empower a cross functional team and foster a value-based team culture.
  4. Strong influencing and collaborating skills with the ability to work in partnership with industries and relevant stakeholders.
