Bicton Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2025.
Educators should prioritise high quality teaching and student wellbeing with commitment to the "Teaching for Impact" resource. Knowledge and experience implementing daily reviews within a Literacy and Numeracy Block is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated and reflective. You should also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and exhibit the ability to work collaboratively. We are seeking teachers who pursue excellence in teaching, have high expectations and believe that all children can learn and be successful. You will also be committed to undertake the hard work that is inherent in adhering to our whole school approach. You should deliver quality learning programs and believe that evidenced-based teaching practices lead to successful students and high standards of achievement.
Suitable applicants will work to further develop and embed our whole school programs and pedagogical approaches. Bicton Primary School uses both a Literacy Block and Numeracy Block with engagement norms, PR1ME Mathematics, Seven Steps to Writing, Promoting Literacy Development - PLD Synthetic Phonics, PBS (Positive Behaviour Schools) and Zones of Regulation. Knowledge and expertise in these programs and approaches is preferred but not essential
Bicton PS is located in the established suburb of Bicton, 6km east of Fremantle, near the beautiful Swan River. The school was opened in 1904. As an independent school, we aim to provide an educational program of the highest standard. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
