Guildford Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Music teacher with a passion for Performing Arts to join our friendly and welcoming team. Guildford Primary School is a beautiful heritage listed school with lovely grounds, an active and engaged school community and students who love practicing the Arts.
The successful candidate will ideally encourage imaginative and innovative exploration of Music and support students to reach their creative and expressive potential. Applicants with a thorough understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver the content in an engaging manner are encouraged to apply.
Experience working with ensembles, choirs and coordinating whole school performances will be highly regarded. A strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices such as explicit teaching, differentiated instruction, high impact teaching strategies and trauma informed practices will be advantageous.
A deep understanding of how to differentiate to meet the needs of all students will be highly regarded, as is the ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level.
Catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6, our school is a historic and integral part of the Guildford community. Guildford PS provides a fantastic learning environment for staff and students. We seek a teacher dedicated to developing each child’s confidence, motivation, and ability to perform and the provision of opportunities for them to do so.
Guildford Primary is dedicated to developing culturally responsive practice and learning more about the Aboriginal history and heritage of our beautiful area.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
