Appointment Pool
Wanneroo Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool for the role of Teacher - Health and Physical Education for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.
At Wanneroo SC, we offer a range of Health and Physical Education options as well as our Specialist AFL program. Strong knowledge of practical and theoretical AFL concepts may be beneficial to the role. Outdoor Education experience, professional knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and a capacity to teach Certificate courses, particularly Sport Coaching and Outdoor Recreation, are also desirable but not a requirement.
Suitable applicants will ideally be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. We are seeking a like-minded teacher who has a passion for teaching secondary students and a desire to impart their skills and knowledge across our college.
Wanneroo SC, an Independent Public School, is a co-educational secondary college catering for 1350 students from Year 7 to 12. The Joondalup Campus has been in operation for sixteen years and caters for around 90 senior school students in six classes with the aim to provide greater TAFE and workplace learning options in Year 11 and 12. Our staff are dedicated and hard-working, sharing a strong collegiate spirit and a school ethos that encourages and rewards effort and excellence.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
