Coodanup College is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher – Digital Technologies to join their friendly team.
As a Digital Technologies instructional leader, you should participate as an integral member of the Technologies Learning Area and would be expected to actively contribute and support a collaborative team approach to further develop a culture of excellence in the Technologies teaching and learning program. The successful applicant will ideally be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery.
The successful applicant should have the ability to plan and teach Western Australian Curriculum Digital Technology Curriculum in Years 7-10 along with Computer Science in Senior School. Understanding and Experience in Lower School Media is also desirable.
2024 has seen the opening of a state-of-the-art, multimillion dollar Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Lab with an Engineering lens at the College. As a Digital Technologies Teacher at Coodanup College the successful applicant will form part of the STEM committee and assist driving improvement in the technological innovation within our students.
Ideally, as a skilled and experienced teacher you should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute will be the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded, as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships. Experience teaching indigenous students would be highly regarded.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
