Ranford Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and reliable Cleaner In Charge (CIC) to lead their team of cleaners.
The CIC is responsible for inducting, training, leading, and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; opening and locking the school including setting the security alarm system.
The successful applicant will ideally have good attention to detail and will be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. You will ideally be organised, reliable and punctual. As a team leader, the successful applicant should have good communication and interpersonal skills and ideally be a conscientious, reliable worker, having knowledge of the cleaning processes and cleaning equipment.
Ranford PS is an Independent Public School located in the suburb of Canning Vale. We currently have 693 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. In 2014, the school received a Department of Education of Western Australia Certificate of Excellence, acknowledging that the teaching and learning programs, leadership and learning environment was of an exemplary standard as determined by an independent expert review panel. In 2015 the school was named WA Primary School of the year. This year the school has been recognised as a Quality Teaching Strategy (QTS) Lead School. The school has a strong culture of collaboration and promotes high expectations. Our school has a campus of five teaching blocks and spacious well-maintained grounds with shared community facilities.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff.
- Experience in school or commercial cleaning.
- Experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within 3 months of commencement
- complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
