Morley Senior High School (SHS) are seeking a passionate teacher of Mathematics, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
The successful applicant should be able to display an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, and experience in developing and delivering a broad spectrum of secondary Mathematics curriculum, and a wide range of teaching models. They should also be able to display the ability to differentiate the curriculum in an engaging and relevant manner. They will ideally be innovative and inclusive and be able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment for students of varying ability levels across Year 7 - 12. The ability to teach Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist is highly desirable. Successful applicants should be highly proficient in motivating and engaging students and will be able to display the effective use of Information and communication technology in the teaching of Mathematics. The ability and willingness to teach in another learning area is desirable.
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual who is committed to working effectively as part of a team. Applicants will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and be relationship focused, as building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. They should have a strong evidence-based approach to teaching and be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of their teaching practice and be able to demonstrate that their pedagogy has actively resulted in improved outcomes and progression for their students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
