Appointment Pool
Riverside Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of passionate and dedicated Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.
We are looking for experienced Education Support Teachers committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for our students. You will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community.
Suitable applicants should have the necessary skills and abilities to develop individual and small group learning programs for students with additional needs. They should be motivated, compassionate, flexible and highly organised. Highly developed classroom management skills are desirable to create the safe and caring environments required for optimal learning to take place, as is the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions.
Proficiency in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress, and areas for development is highly regarded as is the ability to develop plans and programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. Ideal applicants should possess outstanding communication skills and display strong leadership within the classroom and wider community.
Suitable applicants will ideally be genuine innovators who are prepared to be flexible and can meet diverse needs and learning styles in a mixed ability and multi-age classroom setting. Teachers should be able to manage class teams and liaise with parents and therapists to meet our students' educational and care needs.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
