About the School
At Baler PS we value, celebrate and learn from our multicultural diversity by fostering positive relationships through engaging students, parents, staff and the wider community. We are an independent public school catering for children in Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school community is diverse, with representation from over thirty-four different cultures. Our school is located in the Pilbara, and is the largest of the four primary schools in the Hedland area.

The Recruitment Process
This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent and fixed term, full time and part time opportunities that may arise during the 2024 school year. We do, however, have regular intakes where our selection panel convene to assess new applications.
You are encouraged to use the intake deadlines below as a guide for submitting your application, depending on your preferred commencement date if you are successful.

We will also consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years and retain their substantive position. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
