Willetton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a Program Coordinator - Operations to join their leadership team in the Operations portfolio.
The successful applicant should have a high level of organisational, interpersonal and management skills and be committed to achieving exceptional educational outcomes for all students in this multi-cultural school where inclusivity forms an important component of the school values system. The position involves a leading role in assessment and reporting, timetable development and the strategic use of school resources to maximise educational outcomes. The Program Coordinator - Operations will work in collaboration with the Deputy Principal - Operations and in association with the Executive team.
The Program Coordinator - Operations will lead the tracking of the performance of senior students and the development and implementation of a program to remediate gaps and deficits in the academic performance of students in Years 10, 11 and 12. This work will be in cooperation with our Student Services team and will require a high level of knowledge and skills in the interpretation of, and planning in relation to student achievement data.
The successful applicant will play a lead role in the management of the course selection processes for Years 11 and 12, including the identification of education and training pathways, and as such should possess an understanding of trends and innovations in senior secondary and post-school pathways.
The successful applicant should be able to display an understanding of Western Australian Curriculum and timetabling in a large complex school. This includes preparatory work for timetabling, grid development and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
The Program Coordinator – Operations will lead a highly efficient and knowledgeable team that manages various elements of school operations such as Reporting to Parents, examinations, SIRS (Student Information Records System) and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCASA) compliance, National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA), Externally Set Taks, Connect, Subject Selection Online, Parent Teacher Online, Third Party Applications and immunisations. Therefore, to be successful, the Program Coordinator - Operations should be highly organised in their thinking and leadership, able to build capacity in their team and able to promote positive relationships with various stakeholders.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
