The Department of Education is seeking a highly experienced senior executive with professional expertise in supporting student achievement to join the Disability and Inclusion Directorate.

About the Directorate

The Disability and Inclusion directorate is a part if the Professional Capability team at Statewide Services.  Statewide Services provides the services and support required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on schools and students that need it most. The Disability and Inclusion directorate builds the professional capability of school staff to improve student achievement by enabling teaching and learning excellence. It influences system strategy and system input into government/cross-agency initiatives to improve outcomes for children and young people with disability.

About the Role

As a key part of the senior leadership team, the Director, Disability and Inclusion leads the strategic direction and works collaboratively with senior executives and teams across the Department to deliver integrated services and programs that are designed to meet the needs of individual students and school staff.

As Director, Disability and Inclusion you will lead the development of disability resource allocation methodologies. You will inform and influence  disability strategy at national, state and Departmental levels and lead the development of related strategic approaches that build the capacity of school staff enabling them to improve outcomes for students with disability.

As Director, Disability and Inclusion you will direct the development, implementation and review of policies that relate to students with disability.

You will be the subject matter expert and will represent the Department on matters relating to services and professional standards in the areas of disability and inclusion.

This is a critical role within the Department, therefore we are looking for someone who exemplifies personal integrity and is committed to enhancing public education for all students and in particular students with disability.
