The successful applicant will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole child. You will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are highly regarded.

The successful applicant should be motivated, possess the ability to teach secondary Science from years 7 to 10 and will be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum. As the Science Teacher you will deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. You should be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.

You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students. The ability to deliver a second subject area in Maths, Humanities and Social Sciences or English is highly regarded as would be the willingness to teach science at a primary level.

The school's facilities include an upgraded Home Economics kitchen and classroom, a modern and vibrant library, Kitchen Garden with outdoor classroom space, purpose-built Design and Technology area, upgraded Science laboratory, an excellent Nature Play space and welcoming classrooms.  In 2024 we will have a Science lab refurbished in our Primary area.

Just under three hours' drive south east of Perth and two and a half hours west of Bunbury, Wagin is a Wheatbelt farming hub, with a thriving Merino stud industry and rich early-settler heritage. All year round, you can visit Marroblie Bird Place to admire native birdlife and other fauna. Or hit the 10.5 kilometre Wait-Jen Trail that meanders past four lakes on the Coblinine River, with interpretive signs providing a window into local Nyoongar culture, flora and fauna.
