Jungdranung Remote Community School (RCS) is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Primary Teacher to join their experienced team.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Jungdranung RCS in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the role
The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated, energetic, possess the qualities to promote excellence, build effective teams and use current evidence-based pedagogy to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum. You will also need to possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with a small staff.
Jungdranung RCS works closely with the Kimberley Schools Project (KSP) to provide excellent professional learning opportunities and coaching in the delivery of lessons using Explicit Instruction. The successful applicant should have experience or a strong interest in using Explicit Instruction to deliver high quality teaching and learning programs in Literacy and Numeracy. You will ideally have a sound knowledge of the WA Curriculum and be skilled at effectively differentiating the needs of students in a multi-aged class.
The staff will work closely with the leadership team to drive the direction of the school to build a connected community. The successful applicant will ideally possess a strong desire to develop student literacy, numeracy and social skills and foster a culture of high performance and high care for all students. You should understand how to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies. We support every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching, instructional strategies, and two-way team teaching.

Jungdranung RCS is a small, well-resourced school in the scenic East Kimberley. Students are keen to learn, and parents and caregivers are supportive. The Location and Community
Jungdranung RCS is located 132 km southeast of Kununurra in Miriwoong tribal land in the East Kimberley, amidst the spectacular Ragged Range in the Mandangala Community on Glen Hill Station. Opened as a 'Special Aboriginal School' in 1984, the small school is an integral part of the community.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
