Como Secondary College (CSC) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Marketing and Administration Officer to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant should possess sound communication skills as they will liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to organise promotional events and marketing.

The position requires excellent organisational skills to meet the growing demands of the College, as well as the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. You should be highly motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, reliable, committed to personal and professional growth and should embrace opportunities for collaboration within the College. 

The marketing component of this role will involve assisting with the coordination of promotional and marketing events. Additionally, the selected applicant should know how to use content management systems and produce and prepare various items for publishing.

With the capacity to manage and maintain information systems including websites, databases, and social media, applicants should ideally have a solid understanding of the pertinent systems and policies needed to maintain, monitor, analyse, and extract information.  You will ideally be familiar with the Department of Education's guidelines for using social media and other forms of electronic communication.

Experience and an excellent working knowledge of Schools Information System SIS (Administration), SEQTA, Consent2Go, Connect and school accounting systems (such as RM Finance and RM Billings) would be highly desirable, as would an understanding of Adobe software (InDesign and Photoshop).

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • experience in assisting with coordination of events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.
  • initiative and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • sound conceptual, analytical and research skills, including the ability to identify appropriate solutions.
  • well-developed computer application skills.

  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
