Eastern Goldfields Education Support Centre (ECE) is seeking an Education Support Teacher to join their high quality regional school.

The development of positive and respectful relationships between staff and students is a high priority within our school. The successful applicants should be student rapport focused, enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The successful applicants will plan, program, and assess using an integrated curriculum, differentiated to meet individual student needs. Successful applicants will also ideally have highly effective teaching practices, an ability to self-reflect and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.

We are seeking individuals who are hardworking and knowledgeable about a range of disabilities and the implementation of strategies to support and enhance individual development in all areas, with a focus on numeracy, literacy, life skills and protective behaviours. Ideal applicants would have experience and knowledge in managing challenging behaviours for students with special needs

Primary School and Generalist High School trained teachers are encouraged to apply with extensive training opportunities and support provided for the right applicant. Interest and knowledge in The Arts specifically music would be ideal.

Teachers in an education support environment positively manage a team of Education Assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students. They engage with and contribute to the school community and work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to improve student outcomes.

Our school

Eastern Goldfields ESC caters for high school students with mild, moderate, or severe intellectual disability, and for students with Autism who have exceptionally high educational needs. Students may also have other associated conditions.

Eastern Goldfields ESC is a partner school to both Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (KBCHS) and Eastern Goldfields College (EGC). The Middle school campus is co-located with KBCHS in Boomerang Crescent, Kalgoorlie and caters for students in Years 7 to 10. The senior school is co-located with EGC on the Goldfields Institute of Technology campus in the centre of Kalgoorlie and caters for students in Years 11 to 13.

Located in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia, Kalgoorlie Boulder is situated 590 kilometres inland of Perth. The name Kalgoorlie is derived from the Wangai word Karlkurla, meaning "Place of the silky pears".

Kalgoorlie Boulder is Australia's largest Outback City with a population of more than 30,000 people. It is the largest urban centre in the Goldfields region and the fifth largest in Western Australia.
