Independent Public School - Southwest Education Region
Manea Senior College
School Psychologist
00030619
Level 1 - SPS Y2, $83,312 - $134,404 per annum (SEA GA 2021)

Advertised Vacancy Number: 864967

This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2024 with possible extension and/or permanency

Please note that a job share arrangement may be considered for this position.

About the region

Located only a few hours south of Perth, the South West is a small and more densely populated region of WA, home to some of Australia’s best beaches, wineries and forests.

With kilometres of picturesque coastline, beautiful native forests, and relaxing scenic drives, the South West is the most visited region in Western Australia outside of Perth. The South West Education Region encompasses parts of the Great Southern including Albany, Denmark and surrounds.

Covering the south-west corner of the country, the region is known for its natural attractions, laid-back lifestyle and diverse business and employment opportunities. There are many places to sight-see, camp, hike, or taste the local produce. The South West region’s population is around 190,000 and fluctuates during harvest and holidays when many city-dwellers and seasonal workers from Perth and beyond head south.

The region offers 100 public schools which service 30,057 students from large state-of-the-art facilities to very small school settings with multi-aged classrooms. Working in the South West provides an opportunity to make a difference in the education and wellbeing of children living in the region, balanced with a regional lifestyle that is well supported by the close-knit communities.

About the role

As a school psychologist with the South West Education Region, you will be joining a dynamic team of psychologists, from early career through to many years of experience. While our school psychologists are based in locations across the region, we’re looking for a psychologist to join the Bunbury team, with a strong focus on professional learning communities and collegiality.

The successful candidate should utilise strong interpersonal skills to work alongside students, staff and families across the individual, indirect and systems levels to implement effective strategies to address identified learning, social-emotional and behavioural needs, supporting students at risk, and working at a strategic level with school leaders to implement multi-tiered systems of support.

Whether you are a graduate psychologist looking to kick-start your internship or a psychologist with many years of experience looking for a change of work setting, this could be the perfect position for you.

Professional and personal benefits

The successful applicants will enjoy a range of attractive professional and personal benefits, including the following:
