Albany Senior High School (SHS) are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our dedicated and collaborative team. The successful applicant will possess a commitment to excellence, personal growth and innovation in teaching and learning. They will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and display a proven ability to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages every student to achieve their best.

The role requires a sound knowledge of the Western Australian secondary Science curriculum.

Experience in delivering senior school Science courses will be highly regarded.

  • Qualifications in Secondary Science and a high level of WA curriculum knowledge.
  • The ability to create an inclusive and challenging learning environment, which cultivates active and genuine learning.

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
