Governor Stirling Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and highly competent Media teacher to join our Arts team.

The successful applicant should be highly motivated, student-focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful Arts learning experiences. Visual Arts is a valued learning area in the school, encompassing a specialist academic Arts/Media course. This is a Department of Education Approved Specialist Program for students who wish to develop skills across film, multimedia, visual arts and animation. It incorporates traditional arts practices with modern digital technology. The successful applicant should be innovative and collaborative in seeking creative opportunities for our students and be able to work effectively in a highly motivated and cohesive team. The ability and qualifications to teach the Certificate II in Creative Industries (Media) is highly desirable.

We encourage the use of innovative and creative teaching strategies, incorporating the ability to differentiate the curriculum according to student need. Governor Stirling SHS has an Instructional Framework, and the Arts Learning Area has developed instructional model support documents teachers are utilising in their daily practice. We are a Positive Behaviour Support school, and the suitable applicants will ideally have strong teaching and classroom management skills, and an ability to develop good relationships with students and engage them in highly effective learning.
