Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking a Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences to join their progressive regional school.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Carnarvon Community College in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.  

The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

The successful applicant will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school approach to teaching and learning in an environment that is committed to maximising student achievement.

The Ideal Teacher

The successful applicant will ideally be able to teach Humanities and Social Sciences across a range of ability levels from Year 7 to Year 10. Sound classroom management skills, the ability to build high expectations relationships with students and the ability to practise a range of teaching strategies are highly desirable for this role.

  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
