Baldivis Secondary College (SC) are seeking a passionate, innovative and committed Teacher – Year Coordinator to join their fantastic team. The position involves two main responsibilities: A Year Coordinator role and a classroom teacher role within your area of expertise. The classroom teacher role may vary from 0.2 FTE and 0.4 FTE depending on the size and needs of the year group.

Reporting to the respective Student Services Manager and Curriculum Team Leader, you would work collaboratively with the School Leadership team to provide an environment that nurtures the emotional, physical and academic wellbeing of all students.

In collaboration with members of the Student Services team, the Year Coordinator would provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and encouraging school staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.

A high level of interpersonal skills and drive with the ability to establish and maintain networks, both internally and externally will be highly regarded. Additionally, the ability to effectively communicate to foster positive relationships with students, staff and families with the goal to achieve the best outcomes for our students will also be highly regarded.

The role involves contributing to and enacting the Student Services strategic plan, as well as evaluating its outcomes and impacts. The successful applicant would have the skills and experience to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and to deliver high-quality services to students. An understanding of curriculums is highly desirable.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
