Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is seeking a highly motivated and effective Teacher – Science to join their team.

Our moral purpose is ‘to make a positive difference to the lives of young people’.  As a teacher at WCHS you will be part of a professional learning community committed to engaging in practice supported by evidence and research to best meet the need of our students.  Our whole school instructional framework has its foundation in an explicit teaching approach and your role as a teacher in Science will be to translate this into daily practice through the delivery of high impact instruction.  

You will set high expectations and have the ability to establish and maintain a dynamic and positive classroom learning environment.  You should have experience in teaching across a range of Science context areas.  Expertise in Chemistry would be highly regarded.

Situated 50 km south of Perth, WCHS is located in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. WCHS is focused on improving student outcomes through meeting students at their point of need.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
