We are seeking applications from eligible, qualified early childhood, primary and secondary teachers available during the 2024 – 2025 school years.
About the role
Flying Squad teachers fill short term, last minute vacancies in our rural, regional and remote schools.
It is important to be able to quickly and readily engage students. Our Flying Squad team have success where they can use a range of teaching skills, have a strong knowledge of the curriculum and utilise effective classroom management strategies.
To be eligible for our pool you will need to be residing in WA. This is due to you needing to be available for immediate deployment to a school at short notice.

Why join us?
This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who are not appointed to a school for 2024 and 2025. Teachers who are appointed to a teaching position for 2024 and 2025 are also encouraged to apply, and should attach line manager approval for inclusion to the flying squad to their application.
Appointments are usually for periods of between four and ten weeks. It’s a great way to explore Western Australia while teaching in our amazing country schools. You can read more from one of our teachers in her travel blog.
Our Teacher Flying Squad members receive free accommodation and travel to and from the location of any appointment.
