North Albany Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher of English. The successful applicant will be required to teach English from Year 7 to Year 12 inclusive of Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English Year 11 and 12. The ability to teach Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) courses will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be student focussed, highly motivated, self reflective and able to display an engaging and energetic teaching style that also provides for curriculum differentiation. You will have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom environment and possess the required curriculum knowledge and understandings. You will have effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
North Albany SHS is an Independent Public School for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The focus of our school is to provide a wraparound academic, cultural and social education based on our school ethos of ‘Students are First and Foremost”. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
