South Bunbury Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

We are looking for teachers who are student-focused with high expectations of their students. Ideally, they will have a firm belief that every student can achieve and have a commitment to working with students, staff and the wider community in facilitating every student's learning every day.

Students at South Bunbury PS come from many different social and cultural backgrounds, and we strive to create an environment where every student feels a strong sense of belonging. Capacity to cater for diversity, in an inclusive manner, in ways that fosters students’ learning is highly desirable. The successful applicant will have demonstrated the ability to use a range of student data to differentiate teaching, maximise student engagement and adapt the learning environment to meet the full range of abilities in the classroom.

Suitable applicants will ideally have a good working knowledge of the WA Curriculum, with a commitment to implementing whole school programs with fidelity while maintaining low variance across year level classrooms. Experience in effectively implementing Promoting Literacy Development, Origo Maths and Bond Blocks is desirable. Applicants should have the capacity to adhere to a school-wide assessment schedule and use data, such as Brightpath, to inform their teaching and learning programs to facilitate year on year progress for every student.

Suitable applicants will ideally have highly effective classroom management skills and demonstrated experience in creating a safe, inclusive and orderly learning environment. They will have excellent behaviour management skills aligned with the principles and practises of Postive Behaviour Support. The school utilises the “You Can Do It” social-emotional learning program. Knowledge of this program and a background in “Trauma Informed Practice” would be desirable.

We are seeking teachers who believe that when staff work in collaboration and support of each other for the benefit of all students, the impact on student outcomes will be enhanced. They will ideally have the capacity to apply their professional knowledge with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate within a team and build strong partnerships with families to improve student outcomes.
