Appointment Pool

Floreat Park Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of committed, motivated teachers to join our K-6 team for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

Personal attributes are very important to us. We are seeking applicants whose values and beliefs align with the school’s direction. Exemplary interpersonal acumen that forges and maintains positive, productive and trusting relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community is highly regarded. Suitable applicants should have genuine respect and professionalism in all interactions, be collegial, effective collaborators and display a commitment to ongoing personal growth and development.

You should be able to create safe and motivating learning environments for students using engaging pedagogy, restoratives practices and genuine concern for personal and student wellbeing. There is a 1:1 iPad program in Years 3-6.  Strong skills in using Information and Communications Technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes from Pre-primary to Year 6 are desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally be proficient in using data as part of the assess-plan–act cycle, have a proven repertoire of effective teaching pedagogies and strategies that meet the needs of all students, and display their obligation to implementing whole school approaches that include the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework, Inquiry Learning, Phonics and Talk for Writing (K-2).

Coaching, mentoring and learning from each other feature highly in our performance and development culture. We actively develop middle leaders to support our direction and provide opportunities for leadership growth at all levels through the Department’s Future Leaders Framework. Applicants in middle level leadership roles and those aspiring to leadership are encouraged to apply.

Floreat Park PS is an Independent Public School providing excellence in educational opportunities from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are proud to offer local families a progressive school environment in which students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. While acknowledging our rich history dating back to 1951, we are foremost a contemporary school engaged in best practice teaching methods. Central to our success is the strong participation of our parent community in all aspects of school life.

Our approach to education is built on a set of shared values and beliefs about how children learn best and to create a vibrant, engaging and supportive environment.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.
