Halls Head College (HHC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and innovative Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise within Term 4, 2023 or during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within Term 4, 2023, or during the 2024 school year.

HHC are seeking teachers who are able to utilise highly effective teaching practices and have a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. Suitable applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. You should be committed to developing curiosity, innovation and imagination in every person through inspiring minds and learning for life.

An excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner to instil our students with a passion for the humanities is highly sought after. The ability to work well with your colleagues to develop teaching strategies and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential is highly desirable. Applicants who are able to successfully deliver Senior School courses, both Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and General, offered by the College would be highly desirable.

Halls Head College is uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head just south of Mandurah. The local intake area of Halls Head College is south, close to the Waroona Shire boundary. The contributory primary schools are Glencoe, Halls Head, Falcon, South Halls Head and Ocean Road. The College provides a secondary education for students who live in the rapidly growing coastal strip, south of Mandurah.

TRAINING

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
