Ravensthorpe District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join their high quality regional school.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Ravensthorpe District High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.  

The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

The successful applicant will ideally show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English curriculum. As part of this role you will engage and build productive working relationships with students and be involved collaboratively with your colleagues and community to improve student results.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. Applicants will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.

With effective interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Ideally, suitable applicants will challenge and confront complex and conventional practices to provide successful outcomes for students, and continually reflect on their own practices to enhance performance. The ability to meet the holistic needs of students will be highly valued and integral to improving student outcomes.

Located near Fitzgerald River National Park this provides some spectacular recreational opportunities within its varied landscapes including bushwalking, camping, fishing, canoeing, whale watching, swimming, and surfing.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
