La Grange Remote Community School (RCS) is seeking a Secondary Generalist Teacher to join their high quality regional school.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at La Grange Remote Community School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $ 5 000.00 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure).  Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.  Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment. The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

About the role

As a Secondary Generalist Teacher, the successful applicant may need to work in different learning areas of English in the Secondary School and implement literacy intervention work with the Secondary School team to implement two-way science work as part of the Secondary School professional learning community. The role will be adapted to suit the specific skills of the applicant. They will need to possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, organised and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. An awareness of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework and Stronger Smarter philosophy are central to the way in which the school operates, particularly high expectations relationships.

The successful applicant will need to be committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. They need to be willing to participate in ongoing professional growth and development activities, support current whole school processes, work efficiently independently and well with others. This includes the use of explicit and direct instruction, data informed practice and the implementation of evidence based community engagement strategies.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to display their knowledge and where applicable, experience in these areas and impact on school and student outcomes. Being able to work within a high performing and supportive team, focused on positive outcomes and a commitment to Aboriginal students and their families is also a key quality.
