This is a six (6) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2023 with the possibility of a part time or fulltime permanent appointment from 2024.
Allendale Primary School (PS) is looking for and enthusiastic and creative individual to join their team as a Performing Arts Teacher.

About the role
The successful applicant would have experience in teaching performing arts programs centred on music, drama or dance. The performing arts teacher would be supported to plan and deliver lessons centred on their strengths and encouraged to embrace multi modal delivery to engage Allendale students.
They would deliver lessons that blend theory with live performance and support students to develop creativity through playing, singing and movement.
Ensemble leading skills would be highly regarded in this role. In recent years Allendale Primary performing arts teachers have led a rock band, whole school choir and didgeridoo group, as well as annual Midwest Showcase performances.
Allendale PS has a strong focus on Explicit Instruction (EI) from Kindergarten to Year 6 with teachers using Daily Reviews to shift knowledge from student’s short term to long term memory. The panel would view an understanding of the science of learning and experience implementing high impact teaching strategies as highly desirable.

The ability to work closely with classroom teachers and administration, community organisations and other schools in the region to improve the outcomes and experiences of our students is a core responsibility of the specialist teacher.

Allendale PS is a proud Independent Public-School catering for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
