Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an innovative and proactive Marketing Media and Community Engagement Officer to join our friendly team.

As the Marketing Media and Community Engagement Officer you will provide operational support in the development, implementation, and management of marketing activities across the school. This will include coordinating promotional events, attending after hours functions. developing a range of communications, publications, and materials to support activities and events at the school.

You should have an interest in social media platforms and the ability to seek out opportunities to further increase the reach of online communications, which includes managing the school’s website, newsletters, and internal and external communications.

You should be confident in producing marketing content to support the school’s operations and display well developed organisational skills, possess excellent communication skills and be willing to achieve goals and strive for continuous improvement.

This position is covered by the Public Service Award, and you will be required to work over the school vacation period.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • skills and experience with the ability to use photographic equipment and technology.
  • experience in coordinating events and marketing activities.
  • knowledge of content management systems and ability to manage and maintain information systems including websites and databases.
  • initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think clearly and solve problems autonomously.

  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within 6 months of appointment
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
