Harrisdale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and professional Media and Marketing Officer to join their Corporate Services team.
The Media and Marketing Officer is responsible for the effective and efficient management of marketing and communications throughout the school community. They provide operational support in the development, implementation and management of the school’s marketing plan and coordinate promotional events and marketing activities.
The successful applicant should be proactive and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment. They should have experience and knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to actively seek out new opportunities to increase the reach of online communications within our school community. This includes managing the school's website, newsletter and communications across a number of channels.
Harrisdale is a rapidly growing suburb located approximately 28 kilometres south of the Perth CBD. The school is located on Laverton Crescent, adjacent to Harrisdale Primary School and the City of Armadale's new playing fields and sports pavilion. Harrisdale SHS offers a wonderful opportunity for local students to access a high-quality secondary education close to home.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in coordinating events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.
- Knowledge of content management systems and ability to manage and maintain information systems including websites and databases.
- Initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to think clearly and solve problems autonomously

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within 3 months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within 6 months of appointment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
