Lesmurdie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of experienced Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

We are seeking innovative, resourceful and collaborative teachers to join our engaged and experienced staff. Suitable applicants should have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the capacity to build highly effective working relationships with students, parents and colleagues. We are seeking teachers with proven capacity to employ analytical and evaluative practices to implement the curriculum effectively and improve student achievement and progress. Additionally, applicants with capacity to provide educational leadership in the school through participative decision making and a commitment to self-development to improve professional practice, will be highly regarded.

Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth. This will include coaching, classroom observation and feedback as well as teachers who are committed to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches.

Competency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and experience with integrating technology to enhance student learning will also be well regarded. As will, expertise in literacy and/or numeracy and a willingness to commit to whole school programs and instructional practices.

Lesmurdie PS is housed in brand new facilities in the Perth hills. We deliver a rich learning program in a safe, caring and inclusive environment, which nurtures the wellbeing of students and staff. We aim to support our students to grow into young people capable of making a positive difference in the world through their engagement, action and contribution. Our extensive redevelopment is due for completion in 2023, matching our high quality practice with high quality facilities. TRAINING 

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
