About the role
As the successful applicant, you will ideally be an innovative and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide quality teaching in the Humanities curriculum area as part of dedicated team. You should have a passion for the HASS curriculum area and a deep understanding of instructional strategies to effectively engage students in the learning process.
You will ideally be a reflective practitioner who actively engages in activities to improve your professional practice. The successful applicant for this position will be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. You will ideally possess the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school HASS curriculum.
As an expert practitioner you will ideally have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
