Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an English Teacher to join their high quality regional school.

About the role

The successful applicant will ideally show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English curriculum. As part of this role you will engage and build productive working relationships with students and be involved collaboratively with your colleagues to improve student results.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. The successful applicant will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.

With effective interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Ideally, suitable applicants will challenge and confront complex and conventional practices to provide successful outcomes for students, and continually reflect on their own practices to enhance performance. The ability to adapt with and utilise technology within the English learning area would be highly regarded.

Esperance SHS offers a comprehensive secondary education from Years 7 to 12 and provides a range of curriculum subject choices and exciting extracurricular activities.

  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
