This is a Six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2023 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency
The successful applicant will be an expert, passionate teacher of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. HASS teachers with a specialist background in the delivery of Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Geography, Career and Enterprise and Certificate II in Business will be highly regarded. Suitable applicants will need to display the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school HASS curriculum and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels.

You will reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the College, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
