This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2023
Carnaby Rise Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) Teacher, with excellent interpersonal skills and a growth mindset. We are ideally seeking someone with a AUSLAN teaching experience to enhance our LOTE (Languages Other Than English) program.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic LOTE teachers, who ideally will be innovative in raising the profile of AUSLAN across the school and community.
Carnaby Rise PS is located in Landsdale, we opened in 2017 as an Independent Public School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Through consultation and collaboration, we have worked with the local community to develop a vision to shape the direction of our school to reflect the uniqueness and diversity of our children.
Our school has state-of-the-art facilities and resources to cater for teaching and learning in the 21st century.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
