Margaret River Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an energetic and motivated individual to fill the role of Teacher - Design and Technology and join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally possess experience in teaching a range of Design Technologies contexts. To be successful in this role, the applicant should ideally be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as exhibit an engaging and energetic teaching style. The successful applicant should exhibit the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Technologies curriculum across Years 7 to 12 including Metalwork, Woodwork, Engineering and Jewellery.
The successful applicant should ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the school, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, the applicant will work closely with students, teachers, and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
Margaret River SHS is an Independent Public School which is an integral part of the Augusta- Margaret River community. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
