School of Special Education Needs: Disability (SSEN:D) is seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Business Support Officer on a full-time, permanent basis to its administration team based in Padbury.
The Business Support Officer will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a wide range of business operations including financial management and human resources services of the school’s operations, preparation and monitoring of the school budget and developing and maintaining relevant business and other information management systems. Applicants with relevant knowledge and experience in TRIM, NAB Flexi Purchase, End of month, End of Financial Year rollovers, Human Resource Management System (HRMIS) and Recruitment Advertising System (RAMS) and Professional Learning Information System (PLIS) would be highly desirable. SSEN: D works collaboratively with Statewide Services (SWS) and as such, a sound knowledge of SWS including operations and reporting requirements will be highly regarded.
SSEN:D is one of seven specialist schools within Statewide Services and operates within a federation of four schools including School of Special Education Needs: Medical and Mental Health, the School of Special Education Needs: Sensory and the School of Special Education Needs: Behaviour and Engagement, to coordinate support for schools where possible and to share resources and expertise.
SSEN:D seeks to make a valued contribution to education through the provision of evidence-based strategies and practical support for students with disability and learning disabilities. Our team of Consulting Teachers work throughout the state, and support includes individualised student support, whole school consultancy, development and delivery of professional learning and the creation of online resources and information. Our school mission, to build the capacity of schools to ensure every student with a disability is a successful student, is at the heart of what we do.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Considerable experience providing input and effective support to the development, management, implementation and monitoring of business operations, systems and plans.
- Well developed financial management skills, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and the ability to provide recommendations.
- Sound human resource management knowledge and skills, including the ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resource management systems and processes.
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify appropriate solutions.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
