Appointment Pool
The Office of the Director General is seeking to establish a pool of Executive Assistants for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2023 and up to the end of 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2023, up to the end of 2024.

The Role and our Branch
The Office of the Director General is responsible for providing efficient and effective executive services to the Department’s leadership team and is a conduit between the Department and the Office of the Minister for Education. The office provides operational and strategic support to the Director General including management of correspondence and briefings, secretariat services and high-level advice on significant issues affecting the agency.

The Executive Assistant will provide administrative support to the Office of the Director General and to the Executive Directors as required. This will include providing reception duties, assisting with correspondence and briefings, scheduling meetings, arranging travel and hospitality, paying accounts, maintaining good customer service and supporting the team as required.

1. Demonstrated considerable knowledge and experience in the delivery of high-level administration support services, including the ability to provide executive support to senior managers.
3. Demonstrated sound financial management skills with the ability to administer and report on financial systems and budgets.
4. Demonstrated sound written communication skills with the ability to prepare correspondence, minutes and briefing notes.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
