Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region
North Harrisdale Primary School
Teacher - K-6
Pool Ref IPS/TCH825121
Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (SEA GA 2021)

Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH825121

Appointment Pool

North Harrisdale Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of innovative and motivated Kindergarten to Year 6 Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise in Term 4, 2023, up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements in Term 4, 2023, up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Teachers who have experience or the capacity to teach in Specialist Areas are encouraged to apply also, especially in Physical Education and Music & Performing Arts.

Teaching in a relatively new and growing school presents unique challenges and opportunities requiring a particular skill set and outlook. Of utmost importance are the personal qualities you bring to the role. You value developing positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community. You have excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of humour. You have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change; showing initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students.

We are looking for dynamic, highly skilled educators committed to maximising their impact on student learning who actively engage in self-reflection. You have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn at high levels and pursue excellence in your teaching. You are committed to implementing agreed whole school approaches within a plan-teach-assess cycle. Teachers with expertise in high impact, evidence-informed strategies such as explicit direct instruction, synthetic phonics, Talk 4 Writing, and Back to Front Maths are encouraged to apply.

Suitable applicants will support the development and implementation of our vision, values, culture, and strategic direction, as outlined on our website. You collaborate with colleagues within the structure of a whole school professional learning community. Teachers who create an engaging, challenging learning environment, differentiating for students’ needs, resulting in every student making at least a year’s progress for a year’s teaching will be highly regarded.

At our school, there are opportunities to develop your leadership skills as a valued member of our team. You are committed to building your professional capacity through continuous learning and engaging in initiatives that support improved teaching practice. Our staff commit to engaging in weekly after-school meetings for whole school development, planning, data analysis, and professional learning. We also have fun together!

A desire to seek roles and responsibilities beyond your classroom, and a willingness to take on extra-curricular activities to enhance learning opportunities for students will be highly valued. Teachers who have additional expertise, skills and knowledge that can add value to the development of whole school programs are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are invited to attend our Prospective Teachers Forum on Wednesday 7th June 2023 at 5pm. Please register your interest here: https://www.trybooking.com/CIOII

Please check our Facebook page for any updates. An information package can be emailed to you, upon request, if you are unable to attend the forum.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.

Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.
