The Role and our Branch

We are seeking a Labour Relations Officer to join the Employee Relations Branch.

As a Labour Relations Officer you will work with the Labour Relations performance management team to assist principals and line managers with a range of industrial relations and performance management matters, You may also assist the team to deliver performance management training to principals and line managers across the Department.

The Labour Relations Branch operates in a complex industrial environment and is responsible for providing strategic and operational industrial relations advice, support and information to principals and line managers.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
  • Complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
    • any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
    • the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
