The Midwest education region is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic school psychologist.
There are two location options available by negotiation, Carnarvon or Geraldton (regular visits to Carnarvon will be required).
About the role
As a school psychologist with the Midwest, you will be joining a team of around 16 psychologists from early career through to many years of experience. You will be providing service to Carnarvon Community College and other schools within the region as required.

Note that additional payments are gross, per annum amounts, and will be adjusted for tenure and work fraction.

Carnarvon Community College provides education to students and families of all ages across the entire town of Carnarvon. The Senior Secondary programs include three pathways. For Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) students, the College provides a selection of face-to-face courses and the full range of School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) courses supported on site by an Independent Learning Coordinator. (WACE) pathway students, the College offers a range of both Courses of Study and Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications to support students in achieving their WACE. The location and community
The Midwest education region is spread along a picture-perfect coast into the striking outback, showcasing the best landscapes WA has to offer. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our region for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
2. Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
4. Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
