Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school. 

Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a passionate and innovative Science teacher to join their high-quality regional school.

About the Role

Hedland SHS is seeking a dedicated and innovative Science Teacher. As a Science Teacher at Hedland SHS, you will be an integral member of the Science learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community.

To be successful in this role, the Science Teacher will ideally have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach Science from Year 7 to Year 10 level and preferably expertise and the desire to teach senior secondary Science courses.

Hedland SHS is an active participant in a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives, with a variety of purpose designed classes for STEM and effective integration across learning areas. You will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable, and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within Science and STEM

Our goal is for all students to be literate, numerate and curious, through the provision of a broad based 21st Century curriculum. Our teachers are passionate about student learning and will create a culture of curiosity to support students to be inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better world through promoting sustainability, intercultural understanding and respect.
