Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and passionate Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated and dedicated to raising literacy and numeracy achievement, as well as social and emotional skills through effective use of whole-school approaches, explicit teaching and a commitment to planning for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class.
Suitable applicants should have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and use a range of contemporary strategies in their delivery. Ideally, applicants will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, displaying the ability to work collaboratively. They will build positive working relationships with parents and all staff, not just those in their year level. They should have the confidence and flexibility to be willing and able to move across year levels over time.
Neerigen Brook Primary School is located in Armadale, on Whadjuk Boodja. We currently have 13 classes for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. With a motto of Strive to Achieve through Moorditj Kaartdijin (strong learning), we are committed to high expectations and excellence in academic achievement. We firmly believe that every child can learn and that every child brings a positive contribution to our community.
We are committed to building strong community partnerships and a sense of belonging. Teachers, students and families work in partnership to nurture children and ensure that they are provided with quality learning opportunities in a safe, supportive, culturally responsive and inclusive school environment. We also offer a wide range of on-site services including community health nurse, dental therapist, school psychologist and referrals to outside agencies. In addition we have a Breakfast Bowl which is available free of charge to all students from 8am daily.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
