We are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and passionate Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated and dedicated to raising literacy and numeracy achievement, as well as social and emotional skills through effective use of whole-school approaches, explicit teaching and a commitment to planning for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class.

Suitable applicants should have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and use a range of contemporary strategies in their delivery. Ideally, applicants will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, displaying the ability to work collaboratively.  They will build positive working relationships with parents and all staff, not just those in their year level. They should have the confidence and flexibility to be willing and able to move across year levels over time.

Neerigen Brook Primary School is located in Armadale, on Whadjuk Boodja. We currently have 13 classes for students in Kindergarten to Year 6.   With a motto of Strive to Achieve through Moorditj Kaartdijin (strong learning), we are committed to high expectations and excellence in academic achievement. We firmly believe that every child can learn and that every child brings a positive contribution to our community.

We are committed to building strong community partnerships and a sense of belonging. Teachers, students and families work in partnership to nurture children and ensure that they are provided with quality learning opportunities in a safe, supportive, culturally responsive and inclusive school environment. We also offer a wide range of on-site services including community health nurse, dental therapist, school psychologist and referrals to outside agencies. In addition we have a Breakfast Bowl which is available free of charge to all students from 8am daily.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.

Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.

The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
