The Role and our Branch
The Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia Division is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Principal Consultant - Registration.

The Principal Consultant – Registration will be responsible for managing the registration process for teachers in WA and ensures administrative systems and processes support registration outcomes. The successful applicant will manage the registration services team in delivering a customer focused and efficient teacher registration service.
The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to lead a highly accomplished team through a renewal of Registration spike whilst supervising the testing of a new operational system. You monitor and identify key areas and make risk-based decisions against Departmental Policy and appropriate legislation.

- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of registration processes and understanding of policy and legislation applicable to a regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated substantial skills and experience in managing a registration and complaint process.
- Demonstrated high level leadership and management skills in motivating and developing staff.
- Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, together with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems and issues.
- Demonstrated highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to undertake high-level consultation, collaborations and negotiations and in providing high quality advice on complex matters.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
