Boddington District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to join their friendly and dedicated team as a Teacher - Science Year 7 to Year 10.

About the role
Ideally the successful applicant will need to contribute to a positive team culture in a rural school and be flexible in the challenge of working in a District High School. They will ideally be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will ideally possess the willingness and enthusiasm to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school curriculum in Science across Year 7 to Year 10.
The learning environment you create should be engaging, challenging, and caring, and cater for the range of needs which will see all students making progress. You will be expected to use effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom.

The location and community
Located 120 kilometres south-east of Perth, Boddington DHS offers courses from Kindergarten to Year 10. We attract students from the local community as well as students from Quindanning, Wandering, Bannister and Crossman. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
