Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Health and Physical Education and Science teacher with excellent interpersonal skills.

Teachers at CLC are expected to provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students. This will be achieved through the use of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS), formative assessment, CMS (Classroom Management Strategies) approaches in building positive relationships and engaging families in their child's learning. As a teacher at CLC you will commit to using our college wide pedagogical framework

The College has a strong STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) focus, working in a collaborative partnership with local primary schools, industry and tertiary education. The successful applicant will possess the ability to develop innovative classroom practices utilising the College's cutting edge IT infrastructure and embedded 21st Century Skills within their teaching and learning.

The College has developed strong, innovative partnerships with its local primary schools and community organisations. A commitment to the College's emphasis on pastoral care and social and emotional learning initiatives, such as Zones of Regulation and You Can Do It, will be essential as well as active promotion of the College's vision, motto and values within the College and the wider community.

CLC is located in Lakelands, a south western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and will cater for students in Year 7 to 11 in 2023. We are a fast growing and innovative college which includes an Inclusive Education hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities and will cater for students in Year 7 to 12 by 2024 across the college. All successful applicants to Coastal Lakes College may potentially teach Inclusive Education students within their learning area.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
