This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2023 

Coodanup College is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher - Secondary Generalist to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our students' needs. With effective organisational and interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

As a Secondary Generalist Teacher, you will be teaching across Mathematics, English, Science and HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences). Experience in Direct Instruction and working with students with higher educational needs would be highly regarded. In addition, the successful applicant should have relevant experience and knowledge in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Classroom Management Strategies (CMS).

Located in south-eastern Mandurah, our college caters for students in Years 7 to 12. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
