Appointment Pool

Waggrakine Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2024.

Suitable applicants will ideally be a passionate, motivated, and skilled educator who is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching, and instructional strategies.

We are seeking applicants who are committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.

It is highly desirable that suitable applicants are committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. They should possess a strong capacity to plan appropriately differentiated, engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Suitable applicants must be experienced and/or passionate about meeting the needs of all students, including those with special needs or challenging behaviours. Suitable applicants will work collaboratively with staff to apply whole school approaches for curriculum delivery, including consistent approaches in literacy and numeracy across the school. Experience in explicit instruction would be highly regarded.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
